Self Initiated - Food Miles





This is a self-initiated project to highlight the amount of miles our food has to travel to get to our plates. The stickers feature the country of origin and the number of miles it flew to get to the UK - to give consumers a choice of whether they want to purchase imported, or home grown produce.

An interesting idea to resolve a problem, that most people don't ever think about when they want their 'All year round' satsumas.
On your stickers, is the emphasis on the mileage or the country of origin?

I wanted the emphasis to be on the mileage, as i think this would be more effective in making people realise the actual distance their food travels.

But from the stickers i guess at the moment the emphasis is on the country of origin.
